Welcome to the CIS WEBbook of Biologic Therapies!

**An update to the compounds listed in the WEBbook of Biologic Therapies is in progress.**

The Clinical Immunology Society maintains the WEBbook of Biologic Therapies as a service to the Society members and the medical community in general. The WEBbook lists all biologics that are FDA approved and gives their names (generic, brand, and others), molecular target, molecular structure, licensed indications, manufacturer, distributor, and date of first FDA approval. A compound may be found in the Search/Index tab, listed alphabetically by its generic and brand names; or in the Table of Compounds, listed alphabetically by generic name only. Selecting a compound’s name in either location will link to a short summary discussion of that agent, including a list of a few important references, along with their URLs, and the package insert URL. A brief section entitled Nomenclature explains the semantic logic behind the choice of the generic names.

The WEBbook does not include compounds that are not FDA approved, even if they are approved in other countries. It also avoids discussion of non-approved ("off label") uses of compounds, even if these have become generally accepted in the medical community.

The information contained in the WEBbook is intended for educational purposes, and should not be relied on for decisions related to immediate patient care (see Full Disclaimer). The Medical Website Editor welcomes suggestions, corrections or comments at raemd@mail.med.upenn.edu.

The site was updated in May, 2012, by the members of the Communications Committee and the Medical Website Editor. The date of update of individual entries is given with the summary discussion of that entry.
