After weeks of anticipation, I have finally arrived in Miami for the 6th annual CIS School in Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases. Early this morning, Charlotte Cunningham-Rundles and Kathleen Sullivan welcomed everyone to the summer school. Thomas Fleisher opened the school with an introduction to laboratory methods in the diagnosis of primary immunodeficiencies.
Throughout the day, fellows from diverse backgrounds presented interesting cases of known immunodeficiencies, mystery cases with diagnostic dilemmas, or basic science research projects. The sessions were moderated by Ramsay Fuleihan, Kathleen Sullivan, Jordan Orange, and Lisa Filipovich. Each session was followed by a didactic lecture by the moderator.
I was impressed by the depth and breadth of knowledge of the other fellows and faculty members. I enjoyed the enlightening discussions that followed each case, and I am looking forward to tomorrow's sessions.

My experience at the CIS Summer School in Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases has been fantastic. I have had an opportunity to interact with other fellows, as well as the faculty, who are incredibly approachable. We have discussed interesting cases, challenging diagnostic dilemmas, interpretation of laboratory tests, and how to develop an approach to management. In addition, we reviewed a broad spectrum of primary immunodeficiencies. Today is day 3, and so far, I have been anything but bored. It is hands down the best educational experience that I have ever had.

The Clinical Immunology Society's Summer School is a great opportunity to interact with experienced faculty, to discuss the principal developments in clinical and laboratory immunology and apply it in our countries. I'm really glad to be here, thank you very much.
