CIS/Talecris Third or Fourth Year Fellowship Award

The Clinical Immunology Society is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the CIS/Talecris Third or Fourth Year Fellowship Award. Thanks to a generous grant from Talecris Biotherapeutics, Center for Science Education, we are offering six (6) $30,000 grants to third or fourth year fellows-in-training who have demonstrated a commitment to the study of primary immunodeficiency as a career path. Funding is to support the education and research endeavors of these individuals.
Eligible applicants shall be fellows-in-training (MD's and MD PhD's) in their second or third year of fellowship at the time of application. Eligible applicants must also be working in primary immunodeficiency with an intent to remain in this career track. Suitable candidates include any fellow-in-training in one of the recognized specialty boards in the US (i.e. allergy, immunology, hematology, infectious diseases, etc.). Applicants may be enrolled in Infectious Diseases, Hematology/Oncology or Allergy/Immunology fellowship programs. Applicants must be US residents, working in the US. Applications must be directed at the field of primary immunodeficiency.
A letter from the Program director and/or mentor, outlining the suitability of each candidate, is required. The letter must include career statements from each candidate attesting to their interest in and commitment to primary immunodeficiency. The candidates must also submit a research plan which outlines the work to be done in the research year. It may be clinical or laboratory based, or both.
The completed application must include a 3-5 page research and career description, curriculum vitae, a letter of recommendation from the Program Director and/or mentor stating the institution supports a curriculum with which to train such individuals.
