Division of Allergy, Immunology and Transplantation of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI), the Clinical Immunology Society (CIS) and the Division of Allergy, Immunology and Transplantation of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) are jointly-sponsoring an intensive three-day residential school course on hypersensitivity and allergic diseases. The program is geared towards two groups of participants, primarily from North America:
The school is designed to provide a special opportunity for young physicians and scientists who are committed to an academic career in allergic diseases. An outstanding group of faculty has been selected for their well recognized ability to encourage and contribute to a wide range of science in this field. The school program is based on the participants' presentations of completed, ongoing or planned clinical, translational or basic research work. Similar presentations by the faculty will be included. Once again, NIAID representatives will lead a session on grant preparation and research funding processes. Career planning sessions are also included in the program for the trainees to meet with the faculty informally and gain career advice. The school will take place from August 21-24, 2008, at The Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah. The faculty will select 25 applicants to attend this year's school based upon:
The language of the school will be in English and all accepted applicants are required to become either an AAAAI or CIS member. Accepted applicants will be provided with travel grants to assist with airfare, hotel and meal expenses.
