Meetings
Improving Vaccination for Chronic Viral Infections - A Case for Emerging Immune Modulatory Therapies Satellite Symposia
June 5, 2008
1:30 - 5:45 pm
Boston, MA
Organizer
Matthias Von Herrath, MD
La Jolla Institute Allergy and Immunology
Registration
Registration must be completed through the FOCIS web site at http://www.focisnet.org/meetings/am08/registration.php. Registration fees are $45 and include a beverage and snack.
Target Audience
This activity will attract an international audience for those physicians involved in or interested in immunotherapy of chronic viral infections.
Content
Vaccines for some chronic viral disease (HIV, HCV) have been difficult to develop. In many cases, enhancement of T cell activity can be achieved, yet viral elimination is not occurring and vaccine-induced T cells do not sustain optimal function in vivo.
Objectives
The goal of this half-day forum is to introduce and discuss novel immune-modulatory strategies that could augment vaccine success based on recent findings in animal models and pave a way for their clinical translation.
ACCME Accreditation Statement
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the sponsorship of the Clinical Immunology Society. The Clinical Immunology Society is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Credit Designation Statement
The Clinical Immunology Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credits commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
