Primary Immune Deficiency Disorders Summer School

The Clinical Immunology Society (CIS) hosted its fourth Summer School on Primary Immune Deficiency to be held October 13-17, 2005* in Miami, Florida, USA. The deadline for applications is July 12, 2005.

The School is geared toward fellows in training, with a primary goal of education in the diagnosis, pathogenesis, and treatment of primary immunodeficiency diseases. The secondary goals of the Summer School are to attract and develop future scientists in academic medicine and to enhance the awareness of clinical immunology and its importance in scientific discoveries and clinical applications. This program encourages student interaction with faculty and thought leaders in immunology in a casual and intimate setting.

Participants should be within their last years of fellowship training or first years of academic appointments and may hold an MD or equivalent: selected candidates with a PhD and intent to concentrate their studies on these diseases may also apply. Candidates may have a background in immunology, allergy/immunology, infectious diseases, internal medicine, rheumatology, hematology, or laboratory immunology.

CIS plans to accept 32 applicants for the 2005 Summer School program. All participants will be provided with travel grants to assist with airfare, hotel, and meal expenses.

If you have any questions, please contact Michelle Roach at the CIS office at +1-414-224-8095 or mroach@clinimmsoc.org.

* We recognize that those individuals observing Yom Kippur may not be able to arrive in Miami until Friday, October 14th. Due to faculty scheduling this was the only weekend that worked to hold the School.
